Description
“7.0 – running with BMT fins – great combo. Surfed in everything from 0 – 6 foot. Fins are key – you need a big set – BMT, EN or maybe Power Twin. Have used with glass keels (K2) as well – good drive and hold – just not pivotal enough for me across the broader range of conditions.”
“There’s a fair bit of meat in the nose – which does push the swing weight forwards – so there is a limit to how “snappy” this can be off the top, but off the bottom the feeling is immense – swooping drive, down the line speed, sensational carves and cutties and glides like magic over dead sections and in weak rubbish surf.”
“The meat through the nose helps in this regard. Hard to have cake and eat it too – but this might be as good as it gets. At 85kg the volume is ideal for a broad range of conditions. If you wanted to focus more on quality waves – a 6.6 could be the go – possibly giving a more snappy feeling. But if you want a board that will get you surfing in stuff you’d normally disregard – and also hold in on big days – this is the board for you. (in the pics, the board is running T1 fins – which were also ok – but bigger is always better, as we all know. And yeah, I added a little graphic along the stringer line top and bottom”

PU Construction
Gemini Twin PU construction diagram
Precision-CNC cut, shaped, laminated and finished by hand. With a natural flex pattern and reliable feel, PU has been the standard construction for many years in the surfing industry. While not as durable or as light as boards laminated with epoxy resin, PU performs in all surf conditions and can be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models.
– CNC-profiled, hand-shaped high-density polyurethane foam with a wooden stringer
– High-quality polyester resin and fiberglass hand laminated and sanded to a satin-rub or fully polished high-quality finish
– NSP designed FTU fin boxes (compatible with Futures Fins) on all models

These have long been the standard for most brands and are the most widely and affordable option still out there. Due to the core’s density, a Gemini Twin PU will sit a little lower in the water than a PE board. Similar to the Double Vision, this makes it easier to keep your rail under, requiring less input for slicier turns.
Being a touch heavier also helps PU boards to handle choppy conditions better and are less prone to being bounced around. Sitting lower in the water also has its benefits to barrel riding, providing more hold in hollow waves.
