Mikołaj was born and raised in Gdańsk – the Poland’s main northern city situated by the Baltic Sea. He always had a broad spectrum of interests and it took him a long time to decide on one singular
activity to focus on.

He has graduated a musical school playing piano, had trained combat sports for over 5 years and trained swimming since the early years of his life. Nevertheless, water was his favorite element – it cleared
his mind and made him calm. During this time Mikołaj has raced on the Polish. He’s got a few
medals and even National Titles, but in those days performance was not his main focus.

After graduating high school and taking a break to be a lifeguard and reflect on his life he made a decision to focus on Stand Up Paddling and chase the dream of becoming the best. He juggles his daily trainings with economic studies, making each week interesting and challenging.

The 2023 was his first season of serious preparations and focus on performance. It ended quite well – with Mikołaj being nominated the International Rookie of The Year and grabbing three-times Polish Championship, as well as golds and podiums on international races such as the Baltic Sup Race in Poland and Skreastrand Paddle Race ICF World Ranking event in Sweden.

The thrill of competing and fighting for the win is what keeps him going forward, and we can expect to see more of Mikołaj in the upcoming season.
