We’ve had the 9'2 in constant rotation at the shop. Still going strong.
Zack from Maui (2022-07-28)
First softboard not to break regardless of waht the swell brings and now we are thinking about getting the full range & not jsut the 8- and 9'2". Impressive builds but not cheap for a fleet

SurfsUp United (2022-10-12)
The bump stops really help with handling and storage as customers are exhausted and not always respect the material at the end of the day. We are happy with the durabilty of these a lot.
Dani W. (2022-12-01)
Rugged, but not clunky. My 9-year-old and my wife both used it.

I spent three weeks posted up at Huntington Beach and bought the 9'2" for my time there. I chose this board because the stated dimensions are similar to a Catch Surf 9' Log that I use at home, but, there's no way, this thing is an aircraft carrier,...

I have gotten used to not waxing boards and am contemplating only riding softboards now. Been looking at smaller sizes available and wish you'd bring back the groveler

My wife appreciates the handle as her arms do not go all the way around the board which I had never thought about but makes perfect sense.

NSP P2 Construction FAQ
P2 construction is NSP’s premium soft surfboard construction, designed for maximum durability and long-term performance under duress.
It uses a thermoformed PE deck skin and rubber bumpers for enhanced resilience. The P2 Basic offers the same shapes and sizes in a more cost-effective build using a thermoformed EVA deck and high-density EVA bumpers — ideal for large surf school fleets or individual buyers looking for value.
Not at all. Any P2 Basic Surfboard uses the same EPS core, fiberglass laminates, and slick bottom as the standard P2 surfboards. The difference lies in the outer skin and bumper materials — EVA is slightly softer and more affordable than PE, making P2 Basic a great choice for beginner surfers, schools, or families who want durability without the premium price.
Both are built to last, but the original P2 surfboard construction has an edge when it comes to long-term durability in high-impact environments.
Its PE deck skin is slightly more resistant to wear and UV exposure and the rubber bumpers offer extra impact protection over time. That said, the P2 Basic holds up incredibly well for most users, especially with proper care.
Absolutely. P2 Basic surfboard construction is created specifically with high-turnover environments in mind.
Many surf schools mix both P2 and P2 Basic models in their quiver depending on budget, availability , location and user needs. For schools running large volumes or looking to scale up affordably, the NSP P2 Basic range is a perfect fit.
Both models suit first-time surfers, kids, families, and weekend riders.
If you are after maximum performance and durability, go for the premium NSP P2 surfboard range. If you want value, safety, and ease of use, the NSP P2 Basic Surfboard range offers unbeatable quality for its price.
Yes — all P2 Basic models share the exact shapes, outlines, volume, and dimensions as their P2 counterparts. This allows surf schools or stores to stock both versions interchangeably without confusion, and riders to choose based on budget and construction preference:
