Jailam Nizar is a surfer from Maldives, from the island of Gadhdhoo in Gaaf Dhaal Atoll. Surfing has been his passion since he started more than 13 years ago.

Jailam works as a surf guide on liveaboard cruises, taking tourists to surf spots across the Maldivian atolls.

Jailam is currently a member of the Maldivian National Surf Squad, selected with a third place ranking on the national surf league leaderboard.

Jailam has been a competitive surfer for the last 4 years, and has been surfing on the national surf league tour since its inception. He also participated in  the 2023 Asian Surfing Championship, where the men’s Maldivian team received silver medal.

Jailam hopes to continue competing and reach his maximum potential. He wishes to see more young people from his island and across the country surfing and excelling at the sport
