PAUL “JONESY” JONES JOINED NSP BACK IN DECEMBER 2016. HIS OBSESSION WITH THE DC SURF X SERIES DESIGNED BY DALE CHAPMAN PRETTY MUCH SEALED THE DEAL FOR US.
“I remember talking to Alain Teurquetil and Mitch Ashton about joining the team back then. I felt NSP had the fastest race boards, I loved Dale Chapman’s designs and to get my hands on their surf- and SUP boards was perfect for me.
To me, SUP is about having fun on the water and staying healthy and fit. Being able to play on the water with a SUP even if the surf is pumping or paddling up the river on a race board is what NSP is about.”
“I’ve always been close to Nalu Surf, a local shop established in 2015 in Torquay, Victoria. You know how they say that great minds think alike? The two guys running the shop are all about supplying their local community with watersports gear, with a big focus on trusted, high-quality brands. Wes and I often train for downwind runs, surfing and flat water racing.”
To me, being a teamrider means rooting for team NSP just as much as being a part of it. Riding the different boards is amazing, getting your equipment updated every year is wicked too, but being a teamrider for me means a lot more.
It’s about what I can give to NSP. I enjoy being involved with the design process, giving feedback on construction and modifications is super important to the future growth of the company which is exciting to be involved with.
“Spending time on the water with other team riders, working with NSP International, the dedicated marketing team, the hard-working and travelling reps and the big boss keeping NSP flourishing – it’s all a massively rewarding experience, making you feel like you are a part of a like-minded crew.”
