This semester at UH Maui College has been eventful, and tough at times. (Math always gets me.) I really love my school and how it brings me closer to my community. It's good to see what everyone's perspectives are on life and society, because we can really cover a lot of ground when we put our thoughts and ideas out there.
Seeing Mikey's blog about this being a good time (when the waves on the north shore start to settle down) to catch fish, helps me realize the goodness of a simplistic lifestyle. So many of us rally on the daily to make something of ourselves and our time, but hardly take the time to reflect on the simple things that make life great. Nice catch Mikey!
Environmental concerns are always a hot topic throughout my courses here on Maui, that and education, which is something I hope you readers can relate with. This is the era of sustainability efforts, decolonization (for those colonized, psychologically and physically), and equality. I think we're moving in the right direction.
Ah, yes, it will be good to end the semester on this note, to take some time to reflect on everything I've learned, to surf my heart out, and do something to make a difference in the future. For now -- the BIG PUSH. Two more weeks of studying, and presenting, and I'm free as a bird.
A hui ho.
